DJ Journey

DJ / Producer / Remixer

You can expect DJ Journey to spin and mix anything. DJ and producer extraordinaire, this Chicago native has taken both the west and east coast by storm with his original style and refusal to pigeonhole himself into Djing or producing one type of music.
DJ Journey wasn't given the name “Journey” by friends for no reason. This multi-faceted spinster has recently gone bi-coastal playing at a number of high profile venues in New York such as Greenhouse, Butter and Marquee, where he was the choice DJ for an exclusive MTV Music Awards after party. Journey’s also Deejayed The International Emmy’s after party where he entertained some of TV’s most elite and creative. Most recently Journey provided the music for the artist Trey Songz at his official post Grammy party.

Hired to spin at high profile events for Red Bull, The X-Games and Ed Hardy, DJ Journey prides himself upon being able to cater to any theme and any crowd. He has been called upon to open up for legends like ?uestlove, The Killers and Grandmaster Flash. Depending on the night and event, Journey can be found spinning for downtown crowds at LA's Standard Rooftop Bar, mashing and mixing in the 80's room at world famous Vanguard or entertaining hip-hop lovers at the latest Hollywood craze, Kress. When he’s not on the east or the west coast, DJ Journey frequents Miami, Vegas, Seattle and has upcoming events scheduled for Dubai and Amsterdam.
Beyond the clubs, DJ Journey devotes much of his time to his evolving music production career. Unique in its genre, DJ Journey uses his love of electronic and orchestral sounds to create scores for music artists, commercials, and television.
When he does find spare time, this earth friendly vegetarian of ten years, donates his time and his skills to organizations like NYC Green drinks. He has also provided music entertainment on several airbases for Salute The Troops, an organization that seeks to find housing for wounded war veterans. Most recently, Journey provided the music at a fundraiser hosted by Chelsea Clinton, which worked to raise money for victims of the Haiti earthquake. Journey also gives back to the community by teaching spinster hopefuls the fundamentals of deejaying at the New York DJ Scratch Academy.

So whether he's making you sway in the club, entertaining your ears with his original productions, or mixing and mashing for your favorite cause, this DJ will be sure to question what the definition of a DJ really is.

DJ/Author

"I used the M3 to record the audio book version of "The Mobile DJ MBA." I just put this feature rich portable unit in WAV mode, plugged in my mic and pressed the record button.  I was very impressed with the playback sound quality!  Now at events I record my performances for later critiquing.  This little jewel is a great tool for DJs who are committed to continuous improvement."       - Stacy Zemon

Maor Appelbaum

Producer/Engineer/Artist

Maor Appelbaum, a producer/sound engineer/mastering engineer and musician. has worked with many international artists, including: Alphaville (Germany), Marc Almond (England), Ozric Tentacles (England), Regina Spector (U.S.A), The Mission U.K (England) , Apoptygma Berzerk (Norway) , The Legendary Pink Dots (England - Netherlands), Sophya (Israel - Netherlands), Edguy (Germany), Death In June (England), Betzefer (Israel), Useless ID (Israel), Aborted (Belgium), Samael (Switzerland), Ancient Rites (Belgium), Darkane (Sweden), Rotting Christ (Greece), Hocico (Mexico), Melechesh (Netherlands/Israel), Pungent Stench (Austria), Nightmare (France), Oren Ambarchi (Australia), Stephen O'Malley (U.S.A), Attila Csihar (Hungary), Twilight Singers (U.S.A), as well as other well known and less known artists.

Maor says of the iKEY M-606 Studio Monitors: "
The fast rate of establishing and developing new project studios caused the low budget priced near field monitors to become very popular and better than before. One can now buy various types of near filed monitors that can fit every budget, but with a small budget there are allot of trade offs.
I have to say that I was very surprised by these I-Key monitors, they have a really cool sound for the price. Only few near field 6 inch monitors in the 300US Dollars range got an overall good sound. These monitors have enough low end to make them sound deep and have pot trimmers for the controlling the high end (Cut/Boost), also in the back there is a Volume Knob and 3 different input connectors- RCA (Unbalanced), TRS (Balanced/Unbalanced) and XLR (Balanced).
In order to check my work, and hear how it sounds on different speakers, I have the opportunity to work with allot of monitors, each speaker reacts differently and represents a different listening environment and tonal character so it's good to check it and hear the responses of each speaker system. When I do the mastering I work on a few speaker systems and when I finish mastering I like checking the final CD with the I-Key M-606, for me it's like checking the album on the same speaker tone that allot of the smaller project studios will have too, so for a pair of speakers in the 300 Dollars price range- this is a real deal.
For those who are in need for more lower end there is a very nice subwoofer called M-10S its a 10 inch active speaker with a great price of 250 dollars.  both the I-Key M-10S and the I-Key M-606 are highly recommended to small project studios and multimedia uses."

Joe Lynn Turner

Rainbow, Deep Purple, Over The Rainbow

In a career that spans nearly 30 years and includes over 60 album credits, Joe Lynn Turner ("JLT") remains one of rock and roll's most distinctive, soulful and expressive vocalists. While in high school, Joe formed Ezra, performing original material and cover songs by artists who were a great influence on him: Jimi Hendrix, Free and Deep Purple. In 1976, JLT enjoyed his first taste of national success with Fandango, a band described as an eclectic mix of R&B, pop, country, jazz and melodic rock. Turner sang and played guitar on all of the band's four albums. Fandango toured with numerous artists including The Allman Brothers, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Beach Boys and Billy Joel.

After Fandango split, legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore enlisted Joe in Rainbow, a band that he formed after he left Deep Purple. It was Turner's contributions that helped catapult the group to a new level of success. Several JLT-infused album tracks reached the Top 20 on rock radio charts. "Stone Cold" was Rainbow's first Top 40 pop radio hit and the band's innovative videos were in heavy airplay rotation on MTV (Music Television). Turner co-wrote and/or sang on Rainbow singles that helped define the melodic rock genre: "I Surrender," "Can't Happen Here," "Jealous Lover," "Death Alley Driver," "Street of Dreams" and "Can't Let You Go."

In 1984, Blackmore reunited with Deep Purple. This gave Turner freedom to work on his first solo album, "Rescue You," produced by Roy Thomas Baker, known for his work with Queen and The Cars. JLT co-wrote most of the songs with keyboardist Al Greenwood (Foreigner). The first single, "Endlessly," received extensive airplay on radio and MTV. A tour with Pat Benatar and acting role in the movie, "Blue Deville" followed.

Turner also proved his versatility by working with a diverse array of artists, including Billy Joel, Cher, Michael Bolton, Mick Jones (Foreigner), John Waite (The Babys). In 1987, JLT became a member of Yngwie Malsteen's Rising Force. Their union resulted in "Odyssey," the most commercially successful album for Malmsteen up to this point in history.

In the winter of 1989, Ritchie Blackmore and Deep Purple needed to find a lead singer to replace Ian Gillan. Turner was invited to audition and found himself fronting one of the major bands he was influenced by as a teenager! They released the album, "Slaves and Masters" and launched an extensive world tour in the midst of The Gulf War.

Turner continues to be a multi-dimensional artist, never limiting his options and experiences in other types of music besides hard rock/melodic rock. He has been doing a lot of writing with artists who specialize in non-rock music genres with the goal of branching out, recording some of this material for either future releases or films. The Fall of 2008 saw the release of his first ever live CD, "Live In Germany."

The formation of Over The Rainbow also garnered international news in October 2008. Former Rainbow musicians Tony Carey, Bobby Rondinelli and Greg Smith united with JLT and a second generation Blackmore to form Over The Rainbow.

Over The Rainbow is:
Vocals: Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow 1980-1984)
Keyboards: Tony Carey (Rainbow 1975-1978)
Drums: Bobby Rondinelli (Rainbow 1980-1983)
Bass: Greg Smith (Rainbow 1994-1997)
Guitar: Jurgen ("J.R.") Blackmore

In early 2009, he toured with Over The Rainbow to near capacity crowds in Russia, Belarus and the Ukraine. The band played arenas and theaters before individual crowds of between 2500-7000. In the spring of 2009, the second Sunstorm album, "House of Dreams," was released via Frontiers in Europe, Japan and the USA.

Eddie Ojeda

Twisted Sister

Eddie's best known for all the years he has spent as the lead guitarist for TWISTED SISTER. After years of creating a name for themselves in bars and clubs in the New York area, Twisted eventually toured the world from Japan to Canada, Europe to Australia. Eddie played on eleven albums (which earned a combined 25 gold and platinum records worldwide) and performed in over 4000 shows, opening for groups such as Iron Maiden, Dio, ZZTop, Whitesnake, and Motorhead. Ronnie Dio chose Eddie to perform alongside Neal Schon, Yngwie Malmsteen, George Lynch, and many other great musicians in the "Hearing Aid" video--Heavy Metal's contribution to the African Relief Fund. During the Twisted period Eddie was featured in the motion picture "Pee Wee Herman's Big Adventure," gave interviews to radio stations across the country, and was recognized in the book, "Who's Who in Rock'n'Roll".

Eddie Ojeda in his first solo album has nothing to prove. The whole metal scene knows his performing and song writing
abilities He wrote songs with all his great friends in mind. For instance when he wrote "Tonight" (a magnificent opening track with the mighty R.J Dio on vocals) he knew exactly how to make it a hit and how it could fit Ronnie's voice. When he re-arranged the classic Beatles "Eleanor Rigby" (actually transformed it into a heavy metal avalanche!) he knew that Dee Snider's powerful and enormous throat would make it one of the classic covers ever made! The same goes for all the songs. One by one, after our thirsty ears, they are emerging straight from the heart of the legendary "Fingers".

Erick Morillio

DJ/Producer/Performer

Erick Morillo on the iKEY M3 Handheld Recorder:

"The iKey provides me with great ease. Now, I can listen to my live sets right from the iKey itself. It's durable, simple to use, and has become a valuable part of my performances. I highly recommend this tool to any musician who records their live sets. I never leave home without it."

There really is very little in the world of music and entertainment that Erick Morillo hasn’t turned his hand to. He’s a platinum-selling artist, he’s topped the charts worldwide as the
producer behind Reel 2 Real’s hit “I Like To Move It” (used in both Madagascar movies, reaching millions of viewers worldwide and covered by Will I Am in Madagascar 2) and
he’s been responsible for a bewildering array of dance-floor tracks including ‘Reach’, ‘Believe’, ‘Do What You Want’ and ‘I Feel Love’ - under pseudonyms including Ministers
De La Funk, The Dronez (with Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero and Jose Nunez) and Li’l Mo Ying Yang. He’s remixed everyone from Whitney Houston to Basement Jaxx and
continues to run the legendary Subliminal Records house music empire. On his debut album he collaborated with Puff Daddy and Boy George alike. And on his second solo
artist album he’s setting his sights even higher: “We’ve already put the message out to Prince and 50 Cent,” says Morillo from his palatial home in Miami, where he has lived for
the past four years. “The time is right. Dance music has been received really well, not only by people in clubs but also in the American mainstream. The success of Lady Gaga and Black Eyed Peas means that dance music is being played by MTV. The pendulum has swung back.”

For over a decade now, Erick has remained one of the most in-demand and instantly recognisable DJs in the world. From the instant success of his weekly ‘Sessions’ parties in
New York, to hosting events like the annual road-blocking Subliminal Sessions parties in Miami at Winter Music Conference, to his coveted residency at Ministry of Sound (he’s still one of the only American DJs to ever hold one) and of course his now legendary Subliminal Sessions parties at Pacha, Ibiza, he’ll now be celebrating his 13th historic
season at the club in 2010. His non-stop DJing schedule has seen him straddling the globe playing up to a whopping 30 gigs a month, particularly in the summer months
where he’ll play from Rome and Mykonos to London and – but never far from his weekly Wednesday show at Pacha, Ibiza. He’s also become a familiar television personality
through his appearances on MTV and MTV Ibiza two years in a row whilst starring in a seven part series for UK TV station, Channel 4, which followed him around the world to the
biggest parties and was aired to millions of viewers.

Raised in Colombia, then New Jersey, Erick was weaned on a musical diet of Latin rhythms, reggae and hip-hop. He started DJing at the age of 11 and after securing
himself DJ sets at several local gigs decided to take a studio engineering course at the local Centre of Media Arts. He was soon inducted into the house fraternity through his
friend Marc Anthony (the Salsa King), whilst he was working with the now legendary Louie Vega and Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez on “Ride On The Rhythm”. “Louie’s watched out for
me since the beginning,” he says. Indeed, last summer the duo DJd together at Pacha Ibiza for the first time in a decade. One minor detail: in the booth was a certain
supermodel called Naomi Campbell and beside her was one of Erick’s musical heroes, the legendary Quincy Jones. “Can you believe it? Quincy Jones came to my party,”
grins Erick, still in shock a year later. When we saw him there, Louie and I decided to play a bunch of his classics, like Michael Jackson’s Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough’. He told me he loved my bass lines,” smiles Erick. “One of the proudest days in my life.”

In 1997, after spending almost a year of meticulously planning everything from logos to packaging, Morillo took it that one step further and launched Subliminal Records with his
production partners Harry Romero and Jose Nunez. Guided by Morillo’s ear and studio presence, the brand has gone on to become synonymous with a funky, soulful house sound. In 2004 Erick released his first artist album worldwide, entitled “My World” it featured heavyweight collaborations from the likes of Puff Daddy, DJ Rap, Terra Deva and even a reunion with the Mad Stuntman. The first single taken from the album was “Break Down The Doors” featuring the Audio Bullys and with its success came Erick’s debut music video, featuring Erick, Audio Bullys and a cameo by his supermodel friend Naomi Campbell. He’ll be returning the favour by DJing at her birthday party in the South Of
France this year. Add to this a residency at Pacha NYC (where Erick is also one of the club’s share-holders), a February tour of Australia and South America (he’ll be at Carnival
in Brazil alongside fellow house heads Luciano and Steve Angello this year), he even found himself a favorite of a certain pair of princes when performing at the Concert for
Diana after-party at London’s Wembley Arena. And this is only what he's done so far. Next up is his long-awaited second album. “My last record came out in 2004,” he
reasons. “I’ve already made a couple of tracks with people like Richard Grey, Eddie Thoneick and Harry Romero,” he reveals, “but I didn’t think I had that fire before – and
now I have that fire again. The idea is to have a single before the summer at the very least and an album later in the year.” At WMC this year, Erick will be performing at Ultra
Fest where he has performed over the past five years. “It’s turned into a powerhouse and attracts more than 30,000 people a year,” says Erick, ever the entrepreneur. “Ill also be
celebrating my birthday at LIV on the 27th as well as hosting a pool party at The Fontainebleau which I have to say has a bigger and better pool and an even better crowd!”

After that, Erick will be focusing on Ibiza again – making an appearance at the Ibiza Music Summit first of all. Erick and David Guetta will appear on a panel titled Big Dog DJs:
F*** You We're Famous, where they will discuss their global reach and appeal. IMS founder Pete Tong will moderate. “I’ve been asked in the past and agreed to do it with
David as it felt like a good time to give back,” says Erick. “I realized that I could impart my knowledge of 18-20 years in the industry. Plus it will be a chance to focus on the new
aspects of business in music. Indeed, Subliminal – once the home of a burgeoning vinyl business empire – is now entirely digital. “The business of selling music has changed,” he
says. Erick says that Subliminal is now back with a bang, with a release schedule of two releases a month. I have a new single with Shawnee Taylor coming out called ‘Live Your
Life’ as well as records from Richard Grey, Able The Kid (he’s covered In My Eyes) and look out for a remix of DJ Dero’s ‘Boca Riba’.

There’s one more change in the UK too – Erick will be dipping his toes and beats into matter within the O2 complex on April 17th with special guest Sebastian Ingrosso. “I’ve
had a great run at Ministry Of Sound,” he explains of the move, which he insists will not be permanent. “I’ve had a couple of residencies but I wanted to try something new and I
really feel like they’re offering something different. I’m not leaving Ministry Of Sound forever!” Then it will be Ibiza season again. “We’re going for a Voodoo theme in 2010,”
he reveals. “Subliminal Sessions – Voodoo Nights. I’m definitely going to be the witch doctor. But for me it’s about having fun and being cheeky and the theme touches on
both those aspects. “I’m going to be putting people under a spell!” he laughs.

Delmar Brown

"World Pop Experience"

Delmar Brown - Musician, Composer, Performer, Visionary, and Student of the World - says of theIKEY G3 Portable Recorder:
“Having a good song is key. Writing has become so great with the G3 recorder. It allows you to record and play along with your ideas at the same time, in 16-bit 44.1 kHz quality. It is by far a superior recorder today that stimulates my creative process.”

The 'Delmar Brown World Pop Experience' brings together exciting musical elements from all over the planet and fuses them together to form a unique blend of music which he himself has termed 'World Pop'. This vision of musical unification from many different cultural sources and American pop musiccomes from a person whose life has always been surrounded by music from a variety of cultures. As a young man, Delmar Brown was a shining star in Bloomington, Illinois where hewas active in church as a pianist, singer and organist. Delmar admired the great jazz musicians of his youth, citing Jimmy Smith, Herbie Hancock, and Oscar Peterson among his earliest influences. Gospel greats like Mahalia Jackson, James Cleveland and C.L. Franklin were a large part of his earliest vocal influences.

After studying at Berklee College of Music, the training ground of some of the finest jazz musicians today, Delmar went on to play and compose for some of the most influential
musicians in the global industry including Gil Evans, Miles Davis, Quincy Jones, Jaco Pastorius and many others. Delmar's travel experiences and love of the music of the world brought him in contact with innovative pop musicians who included elements of world music in their own music. Throughout the years, Delmar has collaborated with such notable figures as Sting, Youssou N'Dour and Peter Gabriel.

Today Delmar Brown combines the smooth sound of jazz, the earthiness of world music and the high energy of pop music to drive 'The Delmar Brown World Pop Experience', mixing musical elements from the Caribbean to Eastern Europe. The music itself is truly unique, and has the potential to reach deeply into one's soul with its throbbing rhythm and 'grounded' sound to touch and uplift you. When you listen to 'The Delmar Brown World Pop Experience', your being will be so full of good feelings and energy that you'll want to experience it over and over again!
